Nominated by the critics at Opernwelt magazine as Promising Young Artist of 2019, the Munich-born soprano has established herself in recent years as a highly talented young lyric singer.
Her busy concert schedule has already taken her to Paris to perform with the Orchestre National de France, to recitals with the mdr Symphony Orchestra, to the Konzerthaus Berlin under Iván Fischer, the Gewandhaus Leipzig, the Philharmonie in St. Petersburg, to Moscow, the Cologne Philharmonie and frequently to the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, where in 2022 she sang
Aennchen on René Jacob’s Der Freischütz tour with the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra.
Engaged by Opernstudio at the Frankfurt Opera after finishing her studies, Katharina is currently a member of the ensemble at the Freiburg Opera House, where she has sung numerous important soprano roles, including Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro), Vixen (The Cunning Little Vixen), Musetta (La Bohème) and Nanetta (Falstaff).
Her performance of Mélisande (Pelléas et Mélisande) was ac- claimed in the press “ highlight of the season” (nmz/Der neue Merker, July 2019).
Guest engagements have followed, as Pamina (at the State Theatre in Darmstadt), Aennchen (State Theatre Karlsruhe), Adele (The Bat), at the Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich, the Theater an der Wien in Vienna and most recently at the Zurich Opera House.
A passionate lieder singer, she works closely together with pianists Helmut Deutsch, Sholto Kynoch, Daniel Heide and Jan Philip Schulze. Lieder recitals have taken Katharina to the Konzerthaus in Vienna, the Opera House in Frankfurt am Main, to Zurich, Bayreuth, Budapest, Madrid and Barcelona, as well as to the Oxford Lieder Festival and London’s Wigmore Hall.
